The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a unique ride event which has morphed into a global movement. Founded in 2012 by Mark Hawwa, Pipeburn, in Sydney, Australia, the ride has grown from a modest local gathering to a worldwide phenomenon, with over one hundred thousand riders participating in some years.

In 2025, riders in 121 countries are expected to participate — all dressed in the most dapper attire, riding classic and vintage motorcycles. Since its inception, the event has raised over $45 million for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer research and mental health support.

Hedon, meanwhile, represents a boutique approach to motorcycle gear that’s more art than industry. Founded in 2011 by Lindsay and Reginald, the brand emerged from a vision to rethink urban riders’ protective headgear.

Hedon helmets aren’t just protective gear, they’re retro motorcycle helmets that make artistic statements. Handcrafted in small batches, each helmet reflects a low-profile design philosophy that fuses vintage aesthetics with contemporary protective standards.

Each year since the partnership, Hedon’s workshop has produced a distinctive helmet design, to accompany the DGR, capturing the essence and aesthetic of each event — with the highest fundraisers receiving the exquisite limited edition helmets.

The designs are applied to Hedon’s collection of beautifully handcrafted retro helmets: the full-face Heroine Racer, three-quarter Classic and the open-face Hedoinist creating memorable artistic head protection.

This is the first time, however, the organisers and Hedon have outsourced the design to riders.

How to Enter a Helmet Design

All you need to do to enter a design is:
1. Download the design template, available in either a PSD or PDF
2. Incorporate the five selected colours (provided as HEX and RGB codes) into your helmet design
3. Submit your design by 31 January 2025 https://www.gentlemansride.com/helmetdecade/

The winning design will be chosen and refined by Hedon & DGR and placed into production for the global ride event. The winner will also receive a Hedon helmet featuring their design.

Five runners will receive various DGR knick-knacks in a merchandise pack.

There isn’t any limit to the number of entries you can enter, meaning more opportunities for one of your designs to become 2025’s DGR helmet.

Don’t miss your chance to make history and leave your mark on the world’s most dapper motorcycle event.
